Our team of dedicated marine biologists has carefully selected Acropora and Latistella coral fragments (branching corals) for transplantation. These resilient coral varieties are well-suited to the Maldivian environment. The chosen location for transplantation is the lagoon between Canareef Island and the neighboring uninhabited island. This spot offers several advantages:
- Controlled Environment: The lagoon provides a safe haven for the transplanted corals, minimizing stress factors like strong currents and wave action.
- Optimal Water Flow: Situated between two islands, the lagoon experiences a consistent current, which is crucial for coral growth and nutrient exchange.
