
Canareef Resort Maldives achieved a remarkable milestone at the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Global Culinary Challenge 2025 (FHAM 2025), with the resort’s culinary team securing an impressive 10 awards while the housekeeping team made their debut appearance in the prestigious competition.
The three-day competition, held from September 7th to 9th in Malé, brought together the finest culinary talents from across the region. Canareef’s seven participating chefs competed across multiple categories, showcasing their skills and creativity against top-tier competition, while the housekeeping team reached a new milestone by entering the honeymoon bed decoration category for the very first time.
The resort’s culinary team delivered exceptional results across diverse categories:
Rachindi Anjana emerged as a standout performer, clinching the Gold medal in Poultry Hot Cooking, demonstrating mastery in one of the competition’s most challenging categories.
Ashan Chanika proved his versatility by securing 1 Silver medal in Vegetable Carving and 3 Bronze medals across various categories including Appetizers, Lamb Hot Cooking, and Beef Hot Cooking.
Ashok contributed significantly to the team’s success with 3 Bronze medals, while Arvind Singh and Sanity Lahiru each earned 1 Bronze medal, showcasing the depth of talent within Canareef’s culinary brigade.
The awards spanned a comprehensive range of culinary arts, reflecting the team’s well-rounded expertise:
- Gold: Poultry Hot Cooking
- Silver: Vegetable Carving
- Bronze: Appetizers Hot or Cold (2), Lamb Hot Cooking, Beef Hot Cooking (2), Artistic Pastry Showpieces, Three Course Meals, and Revello Creative Dessert
